Exploring Ganges and Saltspring IslandThe village of Ganges is the main community and shopping area on the island. The studio is located within five minutes walking distance from all the amenities of town. Here, you will find fascinating First Nations’ and Contemporary Art in Ganges’ many galleries. With a full time population of over 10,000 residents, Salt Spring Island offers over forty artist studios open to the public. If it’s relaxation you seek, come enjoy the silence of an early morning walk on the beach or have a refreshing afternoon swim. Journey from the studio on one of the nearby hiking trails to the breathtaking vistas of Mount Maxwell and Mount Erskin; or take in some of the many other fascinating island activities Salt Spring has to offer. About 30,000 visitors come here every year for kayaking, canoeing, cycling, hiking, shopping, dining and more. Ganges’ Saturday market is famous for superb creations by local artisans and the organic produce is grown fresh on the island. |
