Martinus Studio Training FAQs
What Is The Class Format?
Each Class is designed for two students per instructor, scheduled 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, if not arranged otherwise. Each day is 7 hours of training with a 1 hour lunch break. You are welcome to bring your lunch, but there are several places available to dine out as well.
What Else Should I Bring?
A camera assists your documentation and a sketch or note book. Remember to bring your eye glasses if you need them! You can also bring favorite tools, project ideas, samples, images, and sketches.
What Materials Do I Need?
All the materials that you may need for your projects; silver, gold, gemstones etc. are provided at cost. To help you prepare, please share your design projects and ideas with us in advance to ensure availability of materials.
Recycled jewelry can become part of your designs. Assessment, disassembly, melting and preparation fees will apply: approx. $50 - $70. Existing jewelry must be sent for assessment well in advance of the class. This will help you maximize your training time.
What About Personal Safety?
Safety procedures will be explained and followed for all tools and equipment. The risk of personal injury is minimal.
What If I Have Personal Health Issues?
If you have challenges with your; hands, arms, back or vision, please inform Martinus prior to your session. We will approach your individual situation respectfully and help with realistic plans for a successful class.
Is There Accommodation on Salt Spring?
