Who is Martinus?
In 1980, after eight yeas of rigorous training, Martinus graduated from the highly esteemed German Institute of Goldsmith Arts in Hanau. He achieved a traditional Master Goldsmith Degree and received the Grand Training Qualification for all levels from the Handwerkskammer Wiesbaden, Germany.

Classic Techniques, Professional Studio Equipment
Experience how important and satisfying it is to work with all the right tools. Over decades Martinus has developed an impressive collection of studio equipment.
- Get to know a jeweler’s torch and become familiar with the melting points and composition of precious metals.
- Constructing with metals – Working with soldering and fusing techniques. Demystify how solder works and discover effective techniques with binding wire.
- Design and create metal shapes and forms using jeweller’s vices and European tools
- Enjoy precise results in your design with specialized measuring tools; calipers, compass and micrometer.
- Explore rewarding forging techniques using a variety of anvils, dyes, hammering blocks and punches.
- Create your own special sheet metal and wire with rolling mills and calibrated drawplates.
- Understand the efficiency of hand tools; files, polishing wheels, sanding equipment, clippers, hammers, punches & pliers.
NEW Saturday Sessions
Apply your new skills on two Saturdays each month! Keen, self-directed students who have taken Martinus Studio Training have the opportunity to pursue their individual goals. Participants are encouraged to bring in project concepts to take advantage of complete access to a wide range of equipment and tools. Martinus will be available for questions and general guidance. Beginners and professionals welcome!
Fees for one complete Saturday Session: $150
Fees for one half day: $75 (9am - 1pm or 2pm - 6pm)
